RT:  What/Who inspired you to become the Innovator and Entrepreneur you are today?

Answer: Everyone around me.  Everyone that I’ve encountered in life has taught what I should do or what I should NOT do.  I’ll credit my parents and a mentor that I had during my youth that was also of the Youth Leadership and Development Organization called St. Paul Saturdays.

RT:  How long have you been writing and being your own boss?

Answer: I’ve been my own boss for quite a while, but I started Turngroup Technologies in 2002 and I launched H is for Hope Books in 2007.

RT:  What types of things do you typically write about? 

Answer: I write literature for youth and basic readers.  My books are like fun, directional, ‘How to....’ books primarily for kids.

RT:  When did you truly find “your” voice?

Answer: I really don’t know…just all of a sudden I felt comfortable about the direction that I was heading.

RT: What is the message that you most want to send out with your gift?

Answer: everything that we do in life has a purpose…and everything in life becomes simple or easy when we understand that purpose.

RT: What involvements do you have within the community?

Answer:  I volunteer with a variety of grasp roots / community based organizations.  I believe that in order to effectively lead, you have to know how to serve…touch and interact with the people that you’re serving and not just exalt yourself as a leader.

RT: What projects are you currently working on?

Answer:  Related to our H is for Hope Healthy Quality of Life Initiative. I’m working on getting funding to continue of efforts to increase ‘Health Literacy’ in low-income and low-literacy areas of this country…Through workshops, books, websites, and games we want to educate, uplift, and increase the level of health literacy for youth (and adults) in all communities.

 RT:  What’s next, where can your fans catch you in the Act or obtain piece of your ART?

 Answer: Catch me in the streets ‘Doing Work (and not talking about doing work)!’
